You’ve Been Asking. I’ve Been Writing. Here’s Where Things Stand.

"When's the next book out?" and "What else have you got up your sleeve?" are the two questions landing in my inbox most often right now — so I've created this page to keep you in the loop. And, if I'm honest, to keep myself accountable. 😄

✍️ What's Coming Next, and What’s Rachel Writing?

Lady of the CastleBook 2 in the Nicola de la Haye series

The writing is done, the book has already won several awards, and has received highly recommended ratings from Literary Titan, the Historical Fiction Company, Readers’ Favorite and the Coffee Pot Book Club.

The wait now is for the formatting, finishing the back cover design, and the audio narrator.

It’s a long road from first draft to bookshop, but it will be ready in September at the latest, possibly earlier. Watch this space.

Lady of EnglandBook 3 in the Nicola de la Haye series.

This one is also drafted, and Rachel is editing it between working on the final touches for Lady of the Castle. It’s It covers the height of Nicola’s historical importance, along with Magna Carta, the French invasion, and the Battle of Lincoln.

Target publication for Lady of England: Early 2027.

Lady of the Mantle - The Final Book in the Nicola de la Haye series.

Rachel originally intended to cover this important part of Nicola’s life in Lady of England, but it turned out to be more suited to a separate novel. This is partially written and will continue to be drafted between the editing on Lady of England. These last few years of Nicola’s life were as eventful as the others. This novel is half drafted and is expected in 2027.

And Beyond…

Rachel is currently researching a novel set in another medieval city. Based on real events, and real people, she’s deep in maps, biographies, medieval chronicles and the opinions of modern historians. She’ll keep researching but won’t be able to put finger to keyboard until the Nicola de la Haye books are done.

She also has a Saxon England story waiting in the wings, and another tale set deep in the fourteenth century, with more besides, though she’s not giving away the settings just yet – tbut they're worth waiting for! 😉

And if you haven’t read it yet, why not download your FREE copy of Eleanor’s Revenge, a novella based on Eleanor of Aquitaine’s niece - another medieval woman who overcame tragedy in what was an amazing life.
